Mifumo app privacy
This covers the Mifumo app for Android and iPhone. The app is a window onto your company's Mifumo account, so the account's own terms also apply.
Signing in
The app has no sign-up. Someone with a Mifumo login pairs a phone by scanning a code shown in Mifumo. The phone then holds a sign-in key for that person in that company, kept in the phone's secure storage. Mifumo records the phone's name, whether it is Android or iPhone, when it was paired and when it was last used, so the person and their company can see and switch off their phones.
What the app shows and sends
The app shows and changes the same records the person can see on the web: tasks, time, leads and follow-ups, approvals, leave, salary advances, payslips, mentions and stock counts, depending on their role. Everything it sends goes to the company's own Mifumo address over an encrypted connection and is stored with that company's books, as if typed on the web.
Camera
The camera is used only to read the pairing code, product barcodes and a work site's attendance QR code. Pictures are not saved or sent; only the code that was read is used.
Location
If your company uses attendance, the app reads your location once, only at the moment you tap Clock in, Clock out, or check in or out of a customer visit, so your employer can confirm you were at the work site. It is not read in the background or between those taps unless you turn on automatic clock in (on iPhone; it is not yet in the Android app): then, and only if you allow location "Always", your phone notices when you arrive at or leave your work sites during your shift and clocks you in or out, with one reading at that moment. You can turn it off in the app at any time. The reading (position and how accurate it was) is sent to your company's Mifumo account with the clocking. You can refuse location and scan the site's QR code instead.
What the app does not do
No advertising, no tracking across other apps or websites, and no selling or sharing of data with anyone outside your company's Mifumo account. Apart from the clock-in readings above, the app does not use your location, and it never uses your contacts or microphone. Tapping "Call" or "WhatsApp" on a customer simply opens your phone's own dialer or WhatsApp.
Removing the app's access and data
Unpair the phone in the app's settings, or switch it off in Mifumo under Account → Mifumo app. Either removes the phone's sign-in key at once. Uninstalling the app deletes everything it kept on the phone. Records you created belong to your company's books; ask your company's Mifumo administrator, or write to us, to have your login and its data removed.
